I was interested in learning relationship coaching skills, and the reason why I chose this specific course was because of Ali. I was familiar with her content and her highly diverse, inclusive and respectful approach to relationship structures, needs and dynamics, and I wanted to grow as a coach learning from such a role model. – EC (she/her), Psychologist and Relationship Coach, Cracow Poland
Developed for coaches, this course also benefits wellness practitioners working in therapy, counselling and education.

I was attracted to this certification not because I actually want to focus on coaching romantically involved partners. Instead, I was attracted because EVERYTHING is about relationship. No matter the coaching niche, the client, the issue, there is nothing that will not involve relationship in some way. It is such an important underpinning to coaching (and mental health) practice! For example, a client could be an executive leader wanting coaching on growing their business and that WILL involve relationship skills. A client could be grieving the loss of a pet, that is about relationship. A client could be working toward living in a more authentic and abundant way, that involves self-relationship. It is SUCH a critical component that I don’t know how everyone isn’t jumping to get this certification. – EF (they/them), Inclusive Wellness Coach, Colorado USA
**100% of graduates endorse this course**
What stood out most was how included and supported I felt, especially as someone who is neurodivergent. Ali was incredibly understanding, and certain aspects of the course-particularly the one-to-one sessions were thoughtfully adapted to suit my needs, which made a huge difference. The mix of skills practice, relationship topics, core competencies, and supervision was engaging and well-paced. The quality of the content was consistently excellent, and the space felt safe, respectful, and genuinely inclusive. It was clear that a lot of care went into making sure everyone could thrive, and that meant everything to me. – J (she/her), Relationship Coach/Peer Support Worker, Eastbourne UK

A nice mixture of practical learning – the ICF stuff particularly useful, if annoying and challenging! -, coaching practice, observing and supervision. All really on point. Lots of face-to-face coaching and learning time with an experienced and expert trainer. – J (he/him), Coach, London UK
I learnt so much about ICF coaching, it was eye opening. I think though my favourite thing was getting the opportunity to learn about different relationship interactions and discuss that. I really like the circle platform it is easy to use and it made it great to work through the content. – KW (she/her), Sex & Relationship Coach, France

- Are you passionate about helping others achieve healthy relationships?
- Are you ready to provide a valuable service to individuals and society?
DO IT!!! I would say I only hesitated because I was standing in my own way about my definition of relationship coaching and niching it so finely, it would not apply to the work I do. Literally standing in my own way. Relationship starts with self, as boundaries, attachment style, orientation, presentation, everything. If my/our journey here is about anything, it is about cultivating love and presence, which is what we do when we are in relationship with self and other beings. – b (they/them), Soul Medicine Coach, Denver Colorado USA
I was drawn to the CRC course because I wanted to deepen my understanding of relationships and learn tools that could help me support others in a meaningful, practical way. I’d reached a point where I wanted something structured, credible, and compassionate, and this course felt exactly that. It felt like the right step not just professionally, but personally. – JN (she/her), Relationship Coach, Seaford UK
The quality of our relationships impacts every part of our lives. This course not only helped me develop my coaching skills and practice in the context of relationships, but it also helped me cultivate a deeper relationship with myself and others – as though I was also being coached too! It was very informative, has better prepared me for different coaching dynamics, and the course community is wonderful. – KSS (she/they), Empowerment Coach, Northern Ireland

I loved the setup, especially for someone who was nervous about doing zoom classes, and very supportive teacher. – JW (he/him), Relationship Coach, Essex UK
The syllabus was well thought out, well paced, and easy to follow. The whole setup felt inclusive and flexible, which made a huge difference for me. – JN (she/her), Relationship Coach, Seaford UK

ZOOM CLASS TIMETABLE
The live Zoom classes were engaging, clear, and incredibly supportive. Because of my AuDHD, I can sometimes struggle with processing information in certain formats or staying grounded during longer sessions. Ali was absolutely amazing, she created an environment where I felt comfortable, included, and understood. She adapted things in ways that helped me stay focused and involved, and I appreciated that more than I can express. It made the classes not just accessible, but actually enjoyable and empowering. I especially loved the individual coaching practice sessions. They gave me space to take things at my own pace, work through the techniques in a way that made sense to me, and build my confidence without feeling rushed. The personalised feedback was so valuable, and it helped me develop in a way that felt genuine and grounded. – JN (she/her), Relationship Coach, Seaford UK
The zoom classroom teaching style is a mix of education, anecdotal learning, mentorship, group discussions, and practical learning opportunities. Some classes are for the current cohort only and others are shared with graduates. You too, can attend future cohorts, where space allows (classes limited to 16). This creates a blended, diverse learning space.
I felt like there was the perfect balance in the course among skills practice (love that this was the bulk), structured topics (syllabus), and real-life Q+A and exploration (supervision and relationship topics). I also loved the oracle card pulls; love me some group coaching! – AC (she/her), Self-Connection Coach, Florida USA

BONUS CLASSES ADDED ON DEMAND! Reach out to Ali for the full timetable. If you are thinking of specialising in a particular area, Ali will work on sourcing a guest coach to visit one of the classes for a Q&A session.

I loved witnessing Ali’s feedback after the skills practice sessions. Also she directed participants to record the ‘joys’. This is so good so that you don’t have the entire class giving you feedback on what you can do better. I like that Ali’s feedback is very detailed and focused on ICF. Ali engaged everyone and made them feel like they were important and part of the class. – C (she/her), Relationship Coach, USA

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
My general motivation was a mix of two things. First, I wanted to do a refresher course in coaching since my initial coaching qualification course was back in 2001. Second, I felt that my own romantic life was in trouble and I wanted to put a focus on studying relationships. Specifically with the CRC course, I felt attracted to Ali’s style. It is a very powerful course which attracts interesting people and is well worth doing. I am technologically backward but even I eventually got the hang of it. There was always a quality of aliveness to the classes. – SP (he/him), Life Coach and Author, Portugal

I would recommend a cohort like this which includes a more diverse representation of relationship styles to avoid coaching from a hetero/mono-normative perspective, regardless of your current personal biases as a coach. Learning more about things outside of your personal experience is advantageous as a helping professional regardless of how you personally identify, and only helps you better serve your clients full journey. – A (she/her), Relationship Coach & Educator, USA

Do I need any qualifications or coaching experience to sign up to this course?
You do need some experience of coaching in some capacity. You will be educated on 30+ relationship topics and gain knowledge on how to carry out relationship coaching. Although geared towards coaches, this course is relevant to other professionals such as therapists, educators, and wellness practitioners.
Does this course make me qualified as a competent Relationship Coach?
Yes, if you are already a credentialed coach when you start this course. You will gain valuable skills in relationship coaching, comprehensive relationship education, support and resources. You also obtain 40x ICF accredited CCE hours (Continuing Coach Education) and 6x CCEs from your supervision sessions, which can go towards your professional development and credentialing. You will be widening your perspective and knowledge of relationships which will enhance your practice.
If you are brand new to coaching, this two-month certification is not long enough to gain enough training and coaching hours to be a fully competent coach. It is long enough to start building up your coaching confidence and competence, and to start working with paid clients. In fact, you can start charging clients while you are studying on this course, as long as you share your current student status in your Client Agreement (guidance given during the course). You also have the opportunity to arrange peer coaching sessions, and we recommend you start praciticing weekly coaching with your peers as soon as you can. This will support your development, and you can use the group supervision sessions to enhance your skillset when working with your clients. We recommend at least eight months of coach training and coaching to hone your skills.

This programme is a mix of self-study and live training zooms covering education, exercises, practice coaching, observing coaching, and community sharing. It takes two months to complete the live zoom classes. Over the two months, there are 40 hours of live sessions available, and students only need to complete 20 hours. There is a four-month timeframe to complete the online syllabus, and you have access for life.
What if I cannot complete the 20 live hours of live training in 2 months?
Under special circumstances there is the possibility to attend classes in the following month, but this depends on class sizes and availability. In some instances there is a break between each two-month cohort, meaning that classes may not be available in the following month. In some instances there is only one cohort for the year.
Do you do payment plans?
Yes. There are interest-free payment plans available. Ali does not believe in charging a higher price to those who require a payment plan, so the fees are simply the total cost divided into the number of payment months.
How big are each cohort?
We limit the intake to six students. This ensures the optimum learning environment. Ali reduces her own client caseload in order to be fully present with you throughout your learning journey.
Do I need to know anything about coaching prior to starting?
Yes. Do book in a zoom call with the course lead Ali Hendry here to discuss whether this course is for you. You are also welcome to attend a sample zoom class before signing up. We recommend that you work towards your credentials because if you join us with limited coaching experience this is a two-month course and it is not possible to lean every nuance of coaching in that time.
For your information, Level 1 of ICF credentialing (ACC) involves:
- completing 100 hours of coaching
- doing 10 hours of coach mentoring
- completing 60 hours of coach training from a Level 1 training programme or 60 hours of CCEs if you follow the portfolio credentialing application route
- submitting one coaching session recording for assessment
- completing a 3-hour online exam
When you compare the 170+ hours required for your first coaching credential against the 40 hours for this certification, you understand why we encourage further training for those new to coaching, in order to be a competent and confident relationship coach.
Does this course teach me how to coach couples/duos?
We will be looking at this topic in one of the Relationship Coaching classes and in the syllabus. There may be the opportunity to coach two people in Skills Practice, if you are able to provide two clients. However, this course is not long enough to cover this area comprehensively. Ali does offer mentor coaching sessions where she can observe you coaching two people and provide detailed ICF feedback. Graduates receive a 20% discount. We can also address couple/duo coaching further in your supervision sessions.
There are plans to launch an Advanced Duo/Couple Certified Relationship Diploma in June 2026. This course is open to graduates of the Certified Relationship Coach Diploma and ICF credentialed coaches from any niche. Watch this space!
Can I make an income out of coaching?
Yes. Be prepared for this to take time. Since lockdown the number of coaches training has skyrocketed, so it is worth thinking about what will make your coaching practice unique. What skills and experiences make you stand out from the crowd? During the course you will be encouraged to build on your established skills, experiences, and knowledge, to develop a practice that is bespoke to you. You have access to individual and group coach supervision to support your business’s growth. Here is a blog I wrote on finding your niche.
Does this course expire?
Yes and no! The live zoom classes and case study must be completed within the two months. Although you have lifetime access to the syllabus, it needs completing in four months. The six peer learning sessions need completing in four months.
Can I join anytime?
Yes. As soon as you sign up you receive access to the first three levels of the syllabus. Your zoom classes will commence on the next cohort launch date. There are several cohorts each year.
Can I purchase this course as a gift?
Yes. Ensure the recipient is fully onboard, as sometimes gifted courses are not valued in the same way as those personally paid for.
Do you have any low-cost places for marginalised groups?
Yes. Contact the course lead for information on low-cost places. We particularly welcome intersectional coaches from the trans and non-binary community and racially marginalised groups.
Can I continue to work full-time and still complete this course?
Yes. Chat with the course lead if you need support around diary management.
What is the age range?
18 years old up to any age.
I am neurodivergent, what support can you offer me?
We welcome all abilities in our student cohorts. Speak to the course lead in advance so they can make reasonable adjustments that suit your learning style. We would not assume to know how you gather and process information and are keen to support your learning journey.
Is this course only available in English?
Currently yes.
I have children in the house, can they be in the background while I’m attending zooms?
ICF requires that you are on camera where possible. If you do not wish to put your camera on you are required to remain active via audio or in the chat box. Pease wear a headset as some topics discussed are of an adult nature. Where you are taking part in being the coach in the skills practice coaching sessions it will not be appropriate to carry these out in the presence of children due to background noise and adult topics.
Can I be driving or walking while listening to the classes?
ICF requires that you are on camera where possible, and for your device to be in a stable position (otherwise participants can feel seasick from the moving video!) If you do not wish to put your camera on you are required to remain interactive via audio or the chat box. Assess whether you can give full attention to the classes.
What proof do I get on completion?
All trainee graduates receive a Certified Relationship Coach Diploma stating your 40x ICF CCEs and a completion button for your website and social media platforms.
Does this course talk about Indigenous populations?
Currently this course does not specifically cover this important demographic. There are also some models used such as Attachment Theory that centre around the nuclear Eurocentric Family paradigm. Whilst the course tutor is an active ally and is educated in diversity, equity and inclusion, AH Coaching & Training recognises and acknowledges the limiting filters that our course materials align with. There is a course module on diversity & inclusion included in the syllabus. We are open to ongoing feedback regarding ways to develop the reach and relevance of this course.
I am non-binary, is this course for me?
The course lead is from the LGBT+ community and is supportive of all sexualities, genders, and relationship iterations. That said, she cannot assume to know your lived experience. Gender binaries are referenced in some parts of the course, the main focus of the training is geared towards exploring relationship qualities that include all genders, sexualities and relationship designs. There are also specific modules on sex, sexuality, diversity & inclusion.
Can I use this course for obtaining insurance for my coaching business?
Yes this is certainly true in the UK. You can use this course to support your application for professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
What is the value of having a certification that includes ICF hours?
This course is approved by the International Coaching Federation. ICF is considered the global gold standard for coaching. It is recognised in over 150 of 195 countries and used as a benchmark by insurers, and employers. ICF certification and credentialing gives your clients quality assurance.
ICF coaches run their practices aligned with a code of conduct and ethics standards. Coaching is not currently regulated, but licencing is expected to come in the next couple of years, and is already in place in Switzerland. ICF is the longest running and largest coaching membership organisation in the world and will be utilized for the licencing of coaches. This means jumping onboard now with ICF hours will serve you. You can also count your 40 x ICF accredited CCE (Continued Coach Education) hours should you wish to study for a credential (ACC, PCC, MCC). These CCE hours are in the area of Core Competency and Resource Development.
I’m still confused about certificates, certifications, credentials, and accreditations
It’s not surprising, this can feel like learning a whole new language!
- ICF. International Coaching Federation. This is the largest coaching membership organisation in the world. They issue credentialing for coaches, and accrediting for coach training organisations. They provide membership for coaches and coach training establishments. They issue guidance and training on Ethics and Behaviour Standards. Other coaching organisations are available, ICF is the longest-standing and the only international organisation.
- CERTIFICATION. Issued by an ICF-accredited organisation, and recognised as ICF-accredited core competency training hours (40). This course is a Relationship Coach Certification or Certified Relationship Coach (they mean the same thing)
- CERTIFICATE. Issued by a training organisation and recognised as a qualification but not necessarily “endorsed” by an organisation like ICF. Because your course hours are approved by ICF, you have a certification and not a certificate.
- ACCREDITATION. We recommend you invest your time and money in gaining a coaching certification from a reputable provider that is accredited by a recognised coaching body, there are several bodies and ICF is the largest and oldest body. There are thousands of coach training organisations that are not accredited because they don’t have to! An accreditation is the award issued to a training organisation by a coaching body such as ICF. People often say they have an accreditation with ICF, but they are using the wrong word! The training institute holds the accreditation. What the person means to say is that they have a credential with ICF.
- CREDENTIAL. Credentials are issued by coaching bodies like ICF (the largest coach membership organisation in the world) and demonstrate a gold standard commitment to excellence.
There are 3 levels of credential you can obtain with ICF. Each level requires you to complete more coaching hours, and more training hours. You also have to complete an online 3-hour exam, 10 coach mentoring hours, and submit two coaching session recordings. It demonstrates your commitment to professionalism.
- Level 1 is ACC (associate certified coach)
- Level 2 is PCC (professional certified coach)
- Level 3 is MCC (master certified coach)
And this is the confusing bit, even though ICF uses the word “certified” in the description of the levels, these are all credentials!
If I want to do a credential what is the procedure?
For each credential you need to do a 3-hour online exam, complete 10 hours of coach mentoring, submit one coaching session recording for ACC and two recordings for PCC and MCC, and complete a certain number of training hours and coaching hours.
- ACC: 100 coaching hours (at least 70 from paid clients), 60 coach training hours
- PCC: 500 coaching hours (at least 450 from paid clients), 125 coach training hours
- MCC: 2500 coaching hours (at least 2250 from paid clients), 200 coach training hours
What are CCEs?

Continuing Coach Education units (sometimes called CCEUs). Each unit relates to an hour of study and there are a certain amount required for credentialing and credential renewals. There are two kinds of CCEs – core competency CCEs (more of these are required for credentialing) and resource development CCEs (fewer of these are required for credentialing).
Your diploma gives you 27x CCEs in core competency and 13x CCEs in resource development. In addition, you receive a bonus 6x CCEs in core competency from your supervision sessions (these can be used for credential renewals).
For ICF initial credentialing (at any level) you need a minimum of 80% of your coach training hours to be core competency, and the remainder in resource development. This Relationship Coach Diploma can provide you with 27 core competency and 13 resource development hours, supporting your credential portfolio application.
For ICF credential renewals (at any level) you need a total of 40x CCEs with at least 24 in core competency and the remainder in resource development. This Relationship Coach Diploma provides all your CCEs. In addition you will need to obtain 3 core competency CCEs in ethics, and you can do this through the free ethics course on the ICF website here.
AH Coaching & Training are accredited by ICF to issue 40x CCEs. This process involved submitting a detailed proposal outlining the course contents and learning outcomes. The 2024 ICF annual report highlighted only 1760 training providers across the world are approved to issue students with CCEs.
What can I call myself on graduation?
On graduation, you will have achieved an ICF-accredited certification in Relationship Coaching. This certification is issued by an ICF accredited organisation. It is not issued by ICF directly.
If you are not a credentialed coach (i.e., you do not have a valid ACC/PCC/MCC credential) then ensure you are not misleading audiences by calling yourself an ICF coach.
If you are a credentialed coach (and your credential has not expired) you may wish to call yourself an ICF Certified Relationship Coach.
Whether you have an ICF credential or not, you are a graduate of an ICF-accredited relationship coach certification. Your certificate will have your 40x ICF CCEs listed on it.
Can I talk to someone who has already completed the course?
Absolutely! Check out the video testimonials here and also reach out to Ali and she will put you in touch with graduates. This is an investment of your time, energy, and resources, and we want to give you as much information as possible to help inform your decision.
What happens if I start the course and realise it is not for me?
Once you have made your first payment towards the course you are given immediate access to the first part of the training package and the learning community. If you decide to withdraw in 31 days or more prior to your cohort start date, you receive a 50% refund. After this date there are no refunds.
